This is an individual assignment carrying 10% of the total marks available for the module.

The output of this assignment is in terms of a report written within the range of between 1800 to 2000 words.

You are required to submit your report in softcopy. Kindly ensure name and ID is written on the cover sheet.

0 mark and a barring from sitting final examination may be implemented for those who does not submit any assignments.

Task

  1. Choose any ONE application or solution based on big data and edge computing. The selected application should be proposed to the module leader for approval by 22nd September 2020.
  2. Discuss the architecture and components involved in the selected application.
  3. Critically examine various functionalities of the selected application on the basis of how big data and edge computing enable the application to perform efficiently. 
  4. You have to refer to a minimum of 2 to 3 different related academic papers such as journals, conference papers, or magazine papers published in recent years to support your work. 

 

Deliverables  

The output should be in terms of:  

  1. Brief introduction about the chosen application. (How big data and edge computing are addressed in the application)
  2. Discuss the architecture and components of the selected application. 
  3. Critical analysis of the application (At least 3 advantages and disadvantages)
  4. Recommendation for each identified disadvantages.
